Regional brief · not a ranking of fishing marks
Okinawa: islands and channels change the plan
Okinawa includes many islands and coastal settings; a Naha reference cannot describe the entire archipelago. Identify your island and departure point first. Yagaji in northern Okinawa illustrates why a named local setting matters more than a distant city forecast.
If you choose the shore
Respect swimming areas and local facilities, and confirm access before setting up. Clear water does not necessarily reveal movement through a nearby channel or changing depth with the tide.
If you choose a boat
Confirm the island, harbour and route. A nearshore outing is different from a crossing through open water. Seek local advice about reefs and return conditions before departure.
Start with a city reference
Planner times describe the sun and moon in the city’s local time zone. They do not predict fish activity or provide a local wave or tide forecast for this destination. Use them to organise the day, then consult a marine forecast for your specific location.
Before selecting a departure
- Identify the actual location and method: shore or boat.
- Check current access, permissions and restrictions; a directory listing is not permission.
- Review wind and waves for the return, not only departure.
Sources for further checks
Sources describe regions and activities; they do not verify individual fishing marks here or guarantee a season or catch. Recheck changing details when planning.
